Diabetes mellitus is nowadays a familiar disease that has a high level of myths and the important one is “ people who obese are only at the risk of getting type 2 diabetes”.
Even though obese people are high at risk that doesn’t mean people who are at normal weight don’t get diabetes, about 12% of the people who have diabetes are of normal weight.
Since healthy weight is more important than normal-weight skinny people are also at risk of getting diabetes because even though people look healthy and normal in weight people will have VISCERAL FAT which leads to the risk of diabetes.
So it is important to maintain a healthy weight. Weight and diabetes are interlinked.
There are two different types of diabetes Type 1 diabetes and Type 2 diabetes
Type 1 diabetes is a condition in which the pancreas will not able to produce insulin because of the damage in beta cells.
Type 2 diabetes is a condition in which the pancreas produces insulin but their bodies don’t respond well to it.
Healthy weight is important in both factors, in type 2 diabetes obesity and fat content creates a major impact. Having a proper lifestyle is more important in handling diabetes
Sedentary lifestyle
Smoking
Consuming alcohol
Lack of physical activity
Eating junk foods
Eating whole foods
Adding a large number of green foods to the diet.

Proper monitoring of weight according to BMI and proper tracking of waist size according to limited measurement is more important. Without exercise, there won’t be any progress in achieving a healthy weight. Diets that are high in sugar and unhealthy fats, such as saturated and trans fat can increase the amount of fat in your body, which may lead to diabetes.
